Free local notes, polished for daily life.

Finally, Local Notes That Feel Good

Most local notes apps ask you to choose between file ownership and a polished writing experience. Plume keeps both. You write in a clean macOS interface, while your notes remain ordinary Markdown files in folders you control.

The design is intentionally quiet: minimalist layout, readable typography, and soft inky colors that feel comfortable in both light and dark mode.

Plan travel notes in a polished interface while keeping the files local.

From Groceries To Full Projects

Plume can be a simple place for grocery lists, travel notes, recipes, reading notes, or daily writing.

It can also become a real project workspace. Project vaults add epics, sprints, issues, labels, priorities, and status tracking while staying readable as Markdown. Plume was developed using Plume to manage the Plume project itself.

Start with simple lists for daily life.

Not An AI Product. Ready For Your AI.

Plume is a notes app first. The AI part is about compatibility, not replacing the product with a chatbot.

Each vault includes an AGENTS.md file that explains how an assistant should use the vault and CLI. Plume also includes a companion AI skill, so you can keep using your favorite AI tool while giving it a workspace it can understand.

Readable vault docs and CLI guidance make local notes ready for AI tools.

What it does

From quick notes to serious projects.

01

Free local notes that look good

A minimalist native Mac interface keeps your writing clean, calm, and pleasant to read.

02

Comfortable inky themes

Light and dark modes use soft, inky colors for long reading sessions without harsh contrast.

03

AI can follow the workspace

Each vault includes an AGENTS.md guide, so your preferred AI assistant can understand how to work with the files.

04

Companion AI skill

Plume includes an AI skill that helps agents navigate vaults without turning the app into an AI product.

05

Notes for everyday life

Use a simple vault for grocery lists, personal notes, research, drafts, and anything you want to keep local.

06

Projects with real structure

Project vaults add epics, sprints, issues, and status tracking. Plume itself is managed in a Plume project vault.
